Pedicure

This was my gift from my wonderful mom for my (30th, but really 28 forever) birthday. She took me to get my first EVER pedicure. It was a really really great (and possibly addicting) experience. I've heard some friends mention the OPI "I'm not a waitress or whatever nail polish", so that is what I picked. I am really missing out on the girly thing.

I had to sort of stifle some giggles, because the tech was tickling my feet. Yes, I felt completely ridiculous, which is why I didn't laugh.

Yea, I know... my feet are ugly, but at least some polish is helping them :)

Thanks mom!

Magic reindeer dust

While looking up crafty Martha Stewarty stuff online awhile back, I came across this. We are going to make this a tradition in our house.

Magic Reindeer Dust

Ingredients
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup barley
Glitter
treat bags, or baby formula jars.

Directions
Mix together the (uncooked) oatmeal, barley and glitter (your choice of color).
Divide into equal parts (for each child) and place label on front of each bag or jar.

You can give these as gifts, or just have a fun little the night before Christmas dealio.

Sick little secret

I am totally addicted to reality TV. I just watched The new bad girls club. I am one of those people that puts my foot in my mouth ALL the time. Poor blonde girl Amber?... I would have had a serious pants accident if someone got in my face like that. I admit it, I'm a bleeding heart and I can't help but feel bad even if she is annoying and ditzy.

I am now watching The new housewives of the O.C ... man I have NO life haha.

I will try to post about my first ever pedicure tomorrow. It was pure heaven ... I can't belive I didn't get one in my first 29 years.

Like, totally Beef Stroganoff

I have made this several times before, and it is pretty tasty. I add a small can of whole mushrooms, and a sliced onion to mine also when mixing all the ingredients together.

"The feast" and I am thankful

I am so thankful for my wonderful family, my husband of course :), son and daughter.

I am so greatful to be blessed with a roof over our heads, and plenty of food on the table. Thank you mostly to my husband who has worked so very hard for our family to be where we are. Thank you sweetie :).

I have met many new wonderful friends this year. I also have my old friends who will always in my life be cherished. I love you all, sniff sniff. Ok I will try to keep the sappyness to a minimum.

We are very blessed, and for that I am so deeply thankful.

Here is what we will be enjoying in a few hours for Thanksgiving.

Turkey of course :). I have used this recipe for a few years, and it is wonderful and succulent.

I will use the gravy recipe from the same site. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks fairly simple.

Classic mashed potatoes :) nothing really fancy there. My mom is bringing over stuffing and cabbage and bacon (yum). We have a few frozen pies (apple, pumpkin).... rolls, some labrea sourdough with dipping sauce ... NUM!

I was going to make cookies, but didn't have the chance. I thought we would have less people, but it turned out we won't. Instead in a pinch I made these PB bars. These are really good, and taste just like reeses!

Peanut Butter Squares

3/4 c margarine
3 c Peanut butter
3 3/4 c. powdered sugar
3/4 c brown sugar

melt maragarine, add PB, add brown sugar, gradually add powdered sugar, mix completely. if mixture is too wet add extra powdered sugar.

pat into 9X13 pan.

chocolate topping:
1- 12oz bag chocolate chips
1 stick of butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla

melt stick of butter w/ chips & add vanilla.

pour over peanut butter mixture & chill.

cut into squares of desired size.

Where ever you may be, I hope your Thanksgiving is blessed, and good people and food surround your table.

God bless.

Broccoli and cheese TaterTot casserole

I would consider this as edible, but not great tasting. If I made this again I would put green beans instead of broccoli. The tatertots on top were crispy and good. Unfortunatley that is the only part I wanted to eat.

I'm baaaack

I haven't posted in a few weeks. My laptop computer died completely and totally. My wonderful, most best ever hubby got me a new PINK laptop to blog to my hearts content on. I am loving this new PC.

Hopefully I can stay on the bandwagon through the holidays and continue with trying out new recipes :). My family just loves how I torture them with things like broccoli....
